It all started a few years ago... The first thing I bought was an oversized plastic clothespin that said I could “master my thighs”.

It was very popular and it was being advertised on TV all day long. But nobody ever told me that using was painful and cumbersome to use... so it didn’t work for me and it’s gathering dust in the darkest corner of my closet.

A few weeks later, I saw another TV ad full of preppy people with unnaturally flat stomachs. This time they were selling a strange-looking device that promised I'd get rock-hard abs by stimulating my muscles with tiny electric shocks. Yep, it’s as uncomfortable as it sounds -- I dumped it after a couple of uses.

Well, that’s precisely how it felt trying to follow these DVD workout packages. Yes, I’m afraid I spent even more of my hard-earned money on them (more than I’d care to admit).

First I tried one that said it would get my body "beach-ready". Then I bought one that had me flopping around to "oldies music". And then yet another one that had me yelling and punching and kicking the air...

But after a complete check-up... HIS doctor told him that he had to stop running!

Not only had years of repetitive impact affected his knees. (He ended up with 2 total knee replacements). But he was also on the verge of a heart attack. One more run could have pushed him over the edge.
